Monday Mount Rushmore: Games I Ignored Because of ‘God of War’

It’s that time of the week again

Apologies for the hiatus but there did not seem to be many competitors trying to vie for the top of any category. With that said this week we will pull back the curtain and reveal the four all time games I am ignoring because of God of War for the Playstation 4.

Without further ado.

Kingdom Come Deliverance (Playstation 4 and maybe Xbox One, Switch version to come in 2019):

Here is the update the review and the game has all the makings of a long fun time. Problem is that his game lacks an angry Greek god and that is unfortunate and a reason I am unable to continue playing it at this time.

Pokemon Black 2 (Nintendo DS):

The sequel to Pokemon Black and another thrilling tale of a young child exploring the land with Pocket Monsters. This game is highly underrated and the Unova region is a fun and diverse place to explore. There is not as much snow and again; this game lacks angry Greek gods so it is put on the back burner.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links (Mobile Device):

yugioh

The game that changed the workplace and has certainly made my job a whole lot easier over the past few weeks. It is based on the Duel Monsters card game and is fun and easy to pick up. This game does have angry gods but alas they are Egyptian and not Greek.

God of War (Playstation 2):

The original for the Playstation 2 that was set in Greece, not the Norse one for those of you that are confused.

Kratos Suing Kratos For Stealing His Likeness

Olympus (BFN) – Kratos, from the PlayStation 2/3 God of War franchise has filed a lawsuit against Sony Santa Monica and Kratos from the upcoming God of War game.

The lawsuit comes as a surprise as we were all led to believe that these two Kratos’ was indeed the same person.

“Sony Santa Monica did not want to work with me again, and so they hired some bargain bin to knock off to replace me! Then they tried to silence me with hush money, but no longer will I remain,” spouted the Ghost of Sparta over a phone interview.

Kratos’s lawsuit claims that Sony stole his likeness which given the circumstances is a not hard – pressed to believe. However, the trouble arises when you consider Kratos would be in breach of his hush money contract.

We reached out to Sony regarding this embarrassing revelation, but have yet to hear back.

God of War is set to hit shelves on April 20th and we will just have to wait and see as to whether or not this will have an impact on the game’s sales.

Retro Review: NCAA March Madness 2004

With March Madness just beginning and upsets looming on the horizon, it seemed fitting to review a College Basketball game from the past. This review will be for Ncaa March Madness 2004. For those looking to play the game themselves and relive the glory can purchase here.

As usual these games are rated on overall game play, Couchability and my overall take on the game.

OVERALL: B

That grade is good enough for this game to be eligible and thus makes the grade. This is a fun game to play and especially with a buddy to talk trash. You can play as your favorite school and even create your own. I spent the majority of the time playing as the Syracuse Orangemen as they have one of the best teams and star cover athlete, SF #15. When playing as them, make sure to get SF #15 the ball and he can take over a game and dominate. That one player has a real chance at making it to the NBA live or NBA 2K games after his college career is done.

COUCHABILITY: 1-4

This game is hard to stay seated for. The constant action, the up and down of the game will have you on the edge of your seat the whole time. The crowds are diverse and stay excited and add to the feel of the game. The bright lights and court side cameras make you feel as though you are a starting senior trying to win the big one and get the glory and cut that net down.

BAKED GRADE: Fun

This is a fun College Basketball game that will keep you entertained for hours upon end. It is fun to pick new teams each time around and see if you can be the best. I would pick this game up for sure out instead of skipping it for NBA Live or NBA 2K.

Review: Shadow of the Colossus

Unlike anything we’ve ever seen before, Shadow of the Colossus is truly the most original game on the planet. Actually, it does vaguely remind us of a game that was released for the PlayStation 2, then remastered and re-released on the PlayStation 3, and then again made available on the PlayStation 4 through PlayStation Now, but we can’t recall the title of that game so f*ck it!

Our Decree:

We give Shadow of the Colossus, 8 colossi out of 16.

Monday Mount Rushmore: Athletes

It’s that time of the week again!

With the Winter Games upon us in a few days, (This Thursday openning ceremony starting at 9 PM ECT / 6 PM PCT on NBC) it is only natural that this weeks Mount Rushmore should he focused on the greatest athletes and competitors in video game history.

Without further ado:

Michael Vick, 2004 Madden: We start off with a strong one. This Quarterback was one rough player to take down. He had all the skills; speed, arm strength and would juke you like a fool. He was always a go to pick and was a walk in the park when playing as the Atlanta Falcons. No bark all bite with this athlete.

Sentinal, MVC 2: With this next competitor, talk about a tank. Twice as strong as any fighter and taking him on felt like your hits did nothing. All strength and fighting skill, no programming to help this bot. A pure fighting monster, that will always be remembered as the best there was.

Little Mac, Punch Out: Here we have a boxing icon. He always fought out of his weight class and never backed down. He took on fighters twice, even three times his size and beat them with ease. His left and right alternate punches stunned even the biggest fighter. He had the best trainer in Doc in his corner giving him words of wisdom. Little Mac danced like a fly and bit like a mosquito.

Bayonetta, Super Smash Bros Wii-U & 3ds: The last athlete here was a fighter introduced late in the Smash franchise as a DLC character in the latest installment. What makes Bayonetta stand out is how hard you have to work to win a match and how out classed she is at times. Her combos take months of practice but is worth it cause she is not some overpowered, easy way out, cheap juggling type character.

Daxter, From Jak and Daxter Has Been Successfully Cloned

Haven City – Daxter, lovable sidekick partner, to Jak has officially been cloned.

The cloning process took place right here in New Haven City; in the same laboratory where Jak was forcefully imbued with Dark Ego by former ruler Baron Praxis.

The process used to create this clone of Daxter involved a rather complicated technique called, somatic cell transfer or SCNT. The technique, which up until now yielded lackluster results was enhanced by the use of Dark Ego.

“We had reached out wit’s end, that is until we received clearance to finally experiment with Dark Eco,” said expert in cloning, Nelson Smith. “We were initially banned from combining SCNT with Dark Eco due to its extremely volatile nature, however after explaining its necessity to the governing body and meeting a number of precautions, we were allowed to use a few orbs of Dark Eco.”

However, many have taken issue with this scientifically groundbreaking achievement, especially due to its somewhat hidden motivation.

“Ill tell you why they chose Daxter, its because they want to create a Precursor, one they can torment and control,” said Green Sage. “There certainly would never be a reason to clone Daxter other than that.”

Green Sage brings up a good point, cloning Daxter was an odd choice given the legacy behind ottsel’s. Not to mention the use of Dark Eco, a power source that has been frowned upon for centuries.

Despite this, Nelson Smith claims that all cloning experiments are done in the interest of the people.

“Scientific breakthroughs such as these will help push Haven City even further into the future. “
