‘Swatting’ to be added to 2020 Tokyo Olympics

UPDATE (10:49 a.m): Due to recent events involving Fortnite Champion Kyle “bugha” Giersdorf, we here at Bottomfeeder News would like to emphasize that we do not condone swatting of anykind as it is a deplorable act of violence and can lead to horrible consequences. Whether it be gamer or fly or mosquito or bumblebee or horsefly or gnat or regular bee or hornet, or even a firefly (lightning bug). Swatting should no be celebrated and the IOC should take a long look in the mirror before proceeding.

Mothers Abode (BFN) With the 2020 Olympic games staged in Tokyo right around the corner, it seems that the International Olympic Committee  (IOC) has decided to add another event to the lineup. It was just released that there will be a new event will make its way to the summer games with Swatting being the newest addition.

For those unaware, Swatting is a popular activity on the internet where an individual will live stream themselves playing a game (usual on a platform like T****h or Y****be (no free ads)) and unaware to it someone watching the stream will call in some kind of threat that would prompt police presence at the live streamers place of residence.

The IOC has always looked for a way to incorporate the growing popularity of Esports to their historic games.

Very little has been released in terms of competition and a scoring system. Head of social media, Conard Mane put out a release stating :

We are very pleased to annouce Swatting as our new event for the 2020 Olympics games. We are excited to include those competitor gladiators of the mouse and keyboard. We are still in the early stages but we will announce in the coming weeks all the details surrounding the event.

No word yet on how public perception will look torwards the gaming community as another governing body involves themselves with it.

More on this story as it develops.

Schoolyard Brawl Between Fortnite and Apex Legends Players Breakout

Less then an hour ago a massive brawl broke out over at the J. Edgar Hoover Elementary School, located in Woodcrest. Surprisingly, however, the skirmish was not between students, but rather between teachers.

According to our sources, a fight between first-grade teacher and avid Fortnite player, Katelin Middle erupted during recess when second-grade teacher and passionate Apex Legends player, Susan Bush started ‘jabbering’ at Ms. Middle about how superior Apex Legends is when compared to Fortnite.

Ms. Bush had apparently been ‘pestering’ Ms. Middle for several weeks. Finally, after insulting famed Fortnite streamer, Ninja, Katelin rushed Susan with the speed of a thousand rockets and proceed to pummel her. Susan was able to turn her over and reciprocate with an array of deadly blows, this according to eyewitness reports.

The two were eventually separated by a group of students. As they were being pulled apart, they yelled, “See you online!”

J. Edgar Hoover Elementary School Principal, David Douglas has suspended the teachers for two weeks without pay and took away their online privileges.

Child Sues Fortnite For Stealing His Youth

A child in Brooklyn has filed a lawsuit against Epic Games claiming that they stole his youth.

In his lawsuit, the child, Andre Davis states that on numerous occasions he skipped out on playing with his friends in favor of staying home and playing Fortnite.

Davis is asking for a sum of 3,000,000 V-Bucks.

“If You Need Proof That The World Is Flat, Just Look at Fornite,” says Flat Earther

“Look, the proof is right in front of you,” cried flat-earther, Nelson Davis.

Nelson, age 12 has become somewhat of a champion in the flat earth community. He has a thriving YouTube Channel and an Instagram Page dedicated to providing evidence that the world is indeed flat.

“I’m not really a gamer,” Nelson told us over the phone. “I just tried this Fornite game everyone is talking about at my friend’s house.”

During his first attempt, Nelson was immediately vanquished because he’s terrible at the game and landed right in the heart of tilted towers.

However, during his second attempt, Nelson stumbled upon something truly remarkable…at least to him.

“This game is realistic in every way, right? So why is the map flat and not round? Because the world is flat.”

When he pressed Nelson’s logic, telling him that the map was merely made up to only represent what was available in the game, Nelson refuted and hung up the phone telling up it was past his bedtime.

Cloud Responds to ‘Stealing Fans’ Accusation

Last week fan favorite Pokemon character Greninja, took to twitter to accuse Cloud Strife of Final Fantasy fame for using his appearance in Super Smash Bros Ultimate to steal fans. Both characters appeared in Super Smash Bros for the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. They are also set to appear in the upcoming game.

There was finally a response as Cloud Strife took to the social media platform, Twitter to defend his addition to the franchise. In a series of tweets he rejects the accusations made last week by Greninja and calls them flat out false.

Cloud also goes on to give advice to anyone who may complain about him joining the Super Smash Bros community.

Many on Twitter and in the Nintendo community believe that the last tweet was a subtle insult at Greninja. Users online are pointing to the hashtag “gen6barginbin”, which many believe was an insult towards Greninja. This is due because his first appearance in the Pokemon franchise was in Pokemon X & Y which are the sixth generation of Pokemon games.

What is unclear is Cloud stating that anyone complaining or accusing him of stealing fans “should go to Fortnite”. He seems to imply that there is a correlation between individuals in the gaming community that whine about stealing fans and who also are involved in Fortnite.

For now, it looks like Cloud has put the accusations to rest and will enjoy his Super Smash fame as well as all the popularity he had with the Final Fantasy franchise way before Greninja was even a concept.

It will be interesting to see if Greninja has a response to any of Clouds tweets. As always check in at BFN for any new developments to this and all stories.

Geninja finished off the social media activity by wishing sickness on Cloud.

Both characters first appeared in Super Smash Bros: Wii U and Super Smash Bros: 3DS. Cloud appeared as an DLC (downloadable content) character and Greninja was available from the start of the games.

It is unknown at the time what sparked the tweets and outrage. Clouds camp has yet to respond to the accusations at hand.

All attempts by BFN to reach out to Nintendo and the creators of Smash have not yet been returned. Stay tuned for more information as it is made available.

Fortnite Still Fighting Hard to Stay Alive

Chances are, you’ve either heard of Fortnite, or are actively playing it right now. However, Epic Games’s biggest hit of 2018 is fading fast, and falling to irrelevancy. Battle royale games are inherently fun, but it’s difficult to stay strong in the ever evolving and changing franchise of video games.

Specifically, Fortnite has become a game that is becoming increasingly harder to introduce someone to. Unless you are an experienced player, if you pick up the game at its current season, chances are you won’t last longer than a few minutes in your first fifty matches.

Because of this inaccessibility, Fortnite is going downhill. They aren’t going down without a fight, though, and may have a few things to learn from their predecessor, PUBG.  With their newest season bringing in unique, fun and goofy methods of destruction, Fortnite is struggling to bring a new, quirky spin to the battle royale formula in hopes of keeping their place at the top. Besides, who doesn’t want to kill someone with a plunger bomb?
